LonelySingles safety standards

Safety, reporting, and accountable moderation.

LonelySingles is a dating service for adults age 18 and older only. These public standards explain how members can report concerns and how we address child safety, abusive conduct, and prohibited content.

Safety tools available today

Report and block

Signed-in members can report profiles and profile photos or block another member directly from the member experience.

Human review

Human moderators review profile and photo reports, pending public photos, and photo-verification submissions.

Enforcement

Moderators and administrators can remove content and restrict, suspend, or ban accounts when appropriate.

Report safeguards include unresolved-duplicate prevention and submission rate limits. Photo verification is an additional human-reviewed signal; it is not proof of legal identity or age and is not a guarantee of safety.

Adults 18+ only

Child safety and zero-tolerance standards

LonelySingles has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Minors may not register for or use LonelySingles.

The following content and conduct are strictly prohibited:

  • Child sexual abuse or exploitation, including CSAM.
  • Grooming or otherwise sexually exploiting a minor.
  • Sextortion involving a minor.
  • Sex trafficking or any other sexual exploitation of a minor.
  • Uploading, sharing, requesting, soliciting, or distributing sexual content involving a minor.
  • Any attempt by an adult to use LonelySingles to pursue sexual contact with a minor.

These standards apply to profiles, photos, messages, and every other use of LonelySingles.

LonelySingles may use narrowly scoped automated safety measures to identify communications that indicate possible underage use, child exploitation, or another serious safety risk. Flagged content may be reviewed by specifically authorized personnel. These measures are safety signals, are not perfect, and do not mean that all private messages are routinely read by people.

Reporting and enforcement

Any signed-in member who can view another member can report that member's profile or profile photos. A Like, Match, or Conversation is not required.

Members can report suspected underage users, inappropriate sexual content, harassment, impersonation, scams or money requests, spam, and other serious safety concerns. Reports are private and enter human moderator review queues.

Depending on the facts and applicable requirements, action may include making content unavailable, removing content, restricting an account or profile, suspension, banning, preserving relevant information, or other appropriate enforcement.

Immediate danger: If a child or any other person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement. Do not rely only on an in-product report.

How LonelySingles handles CSAM

When LonelySingles obtains actual knowledge of known or confirmed CSAM, the material is removed or otherwise made unavailable as appropriate. LonelySingles preserves and escalates relevant information when legally required.

Confirmed CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or another appropriate authority when required by applicable law.

LonelySingles cooperates with lawful requests from law-enforcement agencies and preserves relevant records when legally required.

LonelySingles does not claim automatic CSAM detection or continuous monitoring. Reports and moderation decisions are evaluated using the information available to trained human reviewers.
