Account deletion

You can request deletion of your LonelySingles account on the website, even without the Android app. After you sign in, enter your current password and confirm the request. The Android app also offers Profile → Account → Delete account.

Deletion disables sign-in, revokes API sessions, and removes your dating profile and photos from public access. Profile data, private images, account identifiers, and related records are deleted or de-identified when no continuing safety, fraud-prevention, legal, or lawful preservation requirement applies. A disabled account record may retain an internal ID to preserve references in safety cases and conversations.

Conversations and safety records

LonelySingles may use narrowly scoped automated safety measures to identify communications that indicate possible underage use, child exploitation, or another serious safety risk. Flagged content may be reviewed by specifically authorized personnel; this does not mean that all private messages are routinely read by people or that automated measures are always correct.

Matches involving the deleted account end and conversations become read-only. Ordinary messages sent by the deleted member are replaced with “[deleted]” immediately. Ended-conversation messages become eligible for cleanup after the configured 180-day period. Open moderation cases and explicit retention holds delay eligibility until the hold is resolved. Cleanup is not currently scheduled automatically, so actual removal may occur later. Other participants' messages can remain in their read-only conversation during that period.

Reports, trust signals, and audit event types and timestamps may be retained for safety and abuse investigation. Report details and moderator notes for profile reports involving the deleted member and message reports submitted by that member are removed; details submitted by other reporters may remain for safety review. Audit account identifiers are cleared on deletion. No fixed automatic deletion period is currently defined for those safety records. Contact us if you have questions about a specific record.

Image safety review

Uploaded profile and verification images may be reviewed by authorized staff and processed by automated or third-party services for safety, fraud prevention, and moderation. Automated results are advisory; a human makes public-photo moderation decisions. Public-photo approval and Photo Verified are separate processes.

Celebrity screening may record the provider, time, reason for screening, highest match name and confidence, or a safe failure status. It does not store face embeddings or biometric templates. Celebrity results are not shown to members. Reviewed verification challenge selfies become eligible for cleanup seven days after review; expired selfies become eligible seven days after expiry. That cleanup is not currently scheduled automatically. Deleting an account also queues its private image files for immediate removal, with automatic retry if storage fails.

Technical diagnostics

LonelySingles collects limited technical diagnostic information, such as application version, device and operating-system details, error type, sanitized error details, and crash information, to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. Diagnostics are designed not to include passwords, authentication tokens, private-message contents, or photo and verification-image data.
